Exception PCB has installed two new A9 flying probe test systems from atg-LM, expanding our electrical test capacity and improving throughput across our PCB manufacturing operation.

The atg-LM A9 uses linear drive technology to perform electrical tests at up to 220 measurements per second, combining speed with precision across a wide range of board types and complexities. Flying probe testing removes the need for dedicated test fixtures, making it particularly well suited to the low to medium volume, quick-turn work we specialise in.

Electrical testing is a critical stage in PCB manufacturing. Every board needs to be verified before it leaves the facility, and as order volumes and board complexity increase, test capacity directly affects lead times.


The addition of two A9 systems increases our overall test throughput, reduces bottlenecks at the test stage, and supports our ability to maintain fast turnaround times without compromising test coverage or accuracy. For customers on time-critical programmes, that matters.
