QUALITY & CERTIFICATIONS

PCB manufacturing delivered with controlled processes, full traceability, and verifiable compliance.

At Exception PCB, quality is not treated as a final check. It is built into the way boards are engineered, manufactured, inspected, and released.

Our focus is simple. Deliver boards that meet specification, perform as expected, and can be supported with clear, auditable evidence.

BUILT AROUND PROCESS CONTROL

Every PCB follows a defined manufacturing route, starting with engineering review and continuing through controlled production, inspection, and final release.

This structure ensures that builds remain stable, repeatable, and aligned to design intent.

THIS INCLUDES:

  • Pre-production engineering validation
  • Controlled material selection and verification
  • Defined process routing across manufacture
  • In-process inspection at key stages
  • Final inspection and release verification

STANDARDS, CERTIFICATION AND COMPLIANCE

We operate within recognised industry standards that support high-reliability manufacturing across regulated sectors.

OUR CERTIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

WE MANUFACTURE TO:

  • IPC-A-600 inspection standards
  • IPC-6012 Class 2 and Class 3
  • IPC-6013 Class 2 and Class 3

Products can be released to IPC Class 2 or Class 3 depending on application requirements. Internal capability is supported by an IPC-certified trainer, ensuring consistent understanding of workmanship standards across the business.

INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION

Inspection is embedded throughout the manufacturing process.

EACH BUILD IS MONITORED AND VERIFIED THROUGH:

  • Automated Optical Inspection on all layers
  • In-process inspection at critical manufacturing stages
  • First-off validation for key operations
  • Final visual inspection to IPC-A-600

Microsection analysis is used both during manufacture and at final inspection.

In-process microsections confirm plating performance and structural integrity early, while final analysis validates the completed PCB build.

EVERY BOARD IS SUBJECT TO:

  • 100% electrical test
  • Verification against drawings and specifications

This ensures that performance is confirmed, not assumed.

TRACEABILITY AND DOCUMENTATION

Traceability is maintained across materials, processes, and inspection data.

EACH ORDER IS SUPPORTED BY:

  • Material batch tracking
  • Process route records
  • Inspection and test data
  • Certification and delivery documentation

This provides a clear audit trail for regulated industries and long lifecycle programmes.

Request Quality Documentation

QUALITY DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING

We provide structured documentation to support validation, compliance, and supplier approval.

SUPPLY CHAIN AND ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY

Quality extends beyond manufacturing into supplier selection and control.

WE OPERATE:

  • Approved supplier processes
  • Risk-based supplier assessment
  • Material compliance verification
  • Counterfeit risk awareness and mitigation

Our ethical sourcing approach is aligned with regulatory expectations and customer requirements across global supply chains.

BUILT FOR REAL-WORLD PERFORMANCE

Quality is only meaningful if it translates into performance in the field.

Our approach ensures:

  • Stable electrical behaviour
  • Reliable interconnect structures
  • Consistent multilayer construction
  • Predictable manufacturing outcomes

This gives engineering teams confidence in design realisation, and procurement teams confidence in supply continuity.
