Exception PCB Invests in Ledia 6 Direct Imaging Technology
Exception PCB has invested in a Ucamco Ledia 6 direct imager, moving from film to filmless solder mask imaging to improve registration accuracy, fine line capability and quick-turn turnaround times.
Exception PCB has purchased a Ucamco Ledia 6 direct imager, supplied through ADEON Technologies. The investment strengthens our solder mask imaging capability and supports our ongoing commitment to fast turnaround and technically demanding PCB production.
ABOUT THE LEDIA 6
The Ledia 6 is a three-head, three-wavelength direct imager. Its UV-LED light source combines wavelengths ranging from 350nm to 440nm simultaneously, diffusing energy evenly throughout the resist or solder mask.
Each wavelength can be tuned independently, allowing the system to be optimised for different materials. The result is consistent, high-quality imaging with solder mask dams down to 50µm without undercut.
WHY WE INVESTED
The investment was driven by our strategy to strengthen advanced technical capability and respond to growing customer demand for faster quick-turn services. The Ledia 6 was selected for its performance on fine lines and gaps, its accuracy at solder mask registration, and its overall value against our technical roadmap.
The transition from film to filmless solder mask imaging was straightforward. Within two months of installation, the system was running without issue, delivering consistent solder mask registration and allowing us to offer faster turnaround times to our customers.
A LONG-STANDING SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP
The Ledia 6 was supplied by ADEON Technologies, Ucamco's agents in the Netherlands.
